Founded by Rabbi Yonah and Rachel Bookstein, Neshama builds on decades of creating Jewish community across Poland, Israel, and Los Angeles. From the legendary Pico Shul to Shabbat Tent at music festivals like Coachella, High Sierra, and Lightning in a Bottle, and Shabbat Lounge at Sundance Film Festival, their work has always been about meeting people where they are and bringing Jewish life to life.

Neshama brings that spirit into a global community. Through retreats, holiday experiences, cultural gatherings, and intimate events, it creates spaces where people can come together in ways that feel open, grounded, and real.

Neshama offers counseling and mentorship for individuals and couples, along with access to Torah learning, publications, and Jewish art and culture. It’s not just about experiences. It’s about building something lasting.

This is for anyone seeking a deeper connection. To community. To their heritage. To themselves. A place to reconnect with your roots, grow through shared experience, and engage with Jewish life in a way that feels meaningful today.

Denial Is a River in Poland

On July 4, 1946, more than a year after the Holocaust ended, nearly 50 Jewish survivors were murdered by their Polish neighbors in the town of Kielce. What followed was eight decades of cover-up and denial.

Drawing on 30+ years of research, exclusive interviews, and sealed archives, Denial Is a River in Poland exposes the cover-up and revisionism of a country that has never reckoned with its past. It is a gripping account of survival, betrayal, erasure, and the brave Poles who risked everything to tell the truth.

With a Foreword by Dr. Michael Berenbaum, Distinguished Professor of Jewish Studies at the American Jewish University.

By Rabbi Yonah Bookstein, Fulbright Fellow, Oxford-educated Scholar, and 30-year investigator of the Kielce pogrom.
